An opportunity has been created for a dynamic corporate lawyer to join its high performing and friendly team as Legal Counsel.
Reporting to the Group General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing advice across the business units which encompasses a broad range of matters arising from the manufacture, sale and distribution of products; trading; property; health & safety; human resources and employment-related issues; privacy law, procurement, IT and other such issues.
Additionally, the Legal Counsel role will assist with the development and delivery of key legal compliance programs; provide support on major projects and corporate transactions as well as provide advice to the Secretariat on miscellaneous listing rules and Corporations Act issues. In this role, the Legal Counsel will also take ownership of procurement and act as a key partner to the procurement team.
The successful candidate will have the ability to build and foster good working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders – pivoting from working both in teams to working autonomously. You must be comfortable in taking direction as well as directing others and have the ability to communicate complex legal advice into pragmatic and commercial solutions with a plain-language approach.
This business operates 24/7 so your time management, matter management and workflow solutions must be highly developed. Ideally, candidates will have between 2-6 years PQE with experience from a top tier corporate practice or similar in-house role. Experience in M&A would be highly desirable.
